When I first started to use Twitter I was really sceptical about what use it was to me. However I have discovered some wonderful genealogy websites through other genealogy ‘tweets’. A great example is this primer on genealogy blogging at GeneaBloggers. It’s going to take me ages to get through it all, but it will be a big help - with everything from great ideas and how to’s, to other genealogy blogs to read.
I’ve already spent a wonderful hour, exploring various Welsh ancestors. My elusive grandfather Lewis is listed with his wife Mary and for the first time I saw my grandmother (age 7) on the census, which was really exciting. The census appears to indicate that they have been married 10 years by this time, which is about the time frame I had been searching in. I still have been unable to find their marriage record though.
Twitter is proving quite fascinating, and I’m discovering some great websites through this social networking tool.
